Paris, France, November 4, 2019 - Congratulations to Lagos-based Flying Doctors Nigeria who have been accepted as an Accredited Service Provider, complementing our air ambulance coverage for West Africa and providing increased operational reach internationally.

With two Hawker 800XP jets providing an impressive range of over 5,400 kilometers, non-stop missions from Lagos can grasp the whole of Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia as far as India. Cabin capacity accommodates stretcher, ICU equipment, two medical staff and space for family and luggage. Those features also make the Hawker ideal for longer-range cases, requiring less refueling, bringing the worldwide network of specialist facilities within the comfortable scope and a beneficial resource across the IAG’s expanding alliance.

Established in 2011 and serving the heightened demands of the expatriate workforce in Africa’s most populated country, the core medical team of two doctors now call upon a vetted pool of 45 experienced healthcare professionals to support both air ambulance and flight nurse assignments across a variety of disciplines.

Flying Doctors’ Medical Director, Dr Jibayo Oyedele, stated: “We are extremely pleased to have passed the International Assistance Group’s vetting process to become an air ambulance Accredited Service Provider. We have the team, medical equipment and aircraft to be of significant value within such an established and respected international partnership.”
