Paris, France, September 18, 2019 – Covering the vast area of the Levant, Gulf, Yemen and Afghanistan, UTA Assistance provides the full range of medical assistance services, cost containment, in-house travel agency and legal representation in a wide geographical area of contrast: wealth and poverty, stability and conflict, excellence and absence.
Founded as a travel agency in 1948, UTA Assistance is a long-established regional expert. They were asked to handle their first assistance case in 1976. In 1998 they set-up ‘assistance’ as a business entity. During that whole period, they have dealt with the complexities and challenges of such a demanding area.
Today, UTA Assistance is part of Al Zahirah Tourism Investments, whose interests extend beyond travel agency and assistance, into film production. Managing Director, Mr Munir Nassar has more than 50 years in tourism, including roles as the Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, President of Euromic and Vice Chairman of the Jordanian Tourism Board. He is supported by Mr Mahmoud Salameh, who serves as Deputy General Manager and has headed almost every critical department within UTA Assistance since joining in 1995.
Mr Munir Nassar, UTA’s Managing Director, commented: “It has been a privilege to serve many of the partners within the IAG in our previous role as a correspondent. By becoming an Assistance Partner, we very much look forward to being better integrated and learning from the greater IAG family.”
“UTA has already proved their valuable operational capability. We very much look forward to their participation in our Forums and working groups, to give a direct contribution regarding the region and practices that can be shared globally,” added IAG General Manager, Louise Heywood.
