International Assistance Group appoints Louise Heywood as new General Manager

The Supervisory Board of International Assistance Group (IAG) has recently appointed Louise Heywood as new General Manager, effective on January 1st 2019. The new appointment aims at supporting the IAG as the alliance grows its offering and continues to cater to the needs of independent assistance companies and service providers in the industry.
Outgoing Chairman Michael Marquardt, who led the recruitment process working with the Paris office of the global executive recruitment firm Korn Ferry, said “We were very pleased by the level of interest in this position and the high caliber of applicants from all over the world. Louise’s passion for the industry, her digital experience, energy and drive in pursuit of innovation, made her the clear choice to lead IAG into the future.”
Louise has 20 years of experience in the assistance industry, where she has excelled in a variety of roles including marketing, business development and General Management on four continents. For the past 18 months Louise served as Innovation Consultant for the IAG based in the Paris head office. In this role she succeeded in implementing new internal working procedures thanks to new technologies and instigating a number of strategic projects in both, the medical and roadside business of the group.
Previously, Louise worked for 15 years with World Travel Protection, the IAG Core Partner in Australia, managing its expansion to New Zealand, Canada (known as WTP), Singapore and England, where she established the business and served as General Manager.With deep product, management and industry knowledge, Louise brings a strong business track record in international markets to the IAG. Louise also established, grew and sold a business in workplace health and has managed software and event management businesses.
Louise succeeds Cécile Hermetz, who has been with the group for 23 years, 10 as General Manager during which she has steered the organization into the successful and cohesive alliance it is today. “I have had the privilege of developing the IAG and working closely with our founding members, partners and providers for over 20 years. Together, we’ve grown from a non-profit making association into the world’s largest alliance of independent assistance companies and I have every confidence in Louise’s ability to drive the IAG forward,” said Cécile.
